Why I Created Love, Peapie - to Safely Preserve Childhood Memories
Long before Love, Peapie was an app, the idea behind it was already part of my life.
When my daughters were young, I was fiercely protective of their privacy and safety. I worried about the wrong people knowing where my children lived, went to school, or played. I wasn't the mom who put my children's names or sports teams on the back of my car. To me, those little details could reveal more than we realized, and I wasn't willing to take that chance.me, some things about our children simply didn't need to be shared with the world.
At the same time, I wanted to preserve childhood memories and the things that mattered.
Over the years, I wrote handwritten letters to my daughters. I would seal each one in an envelope and save it, knowing there would come a day when they were older and those words would mean even more to them.
Today, my daughters are grown, but I've never forgotten what those letters represented: a piece of their childhood, preserved for the future.
Love, Peapie grew from those two ideas.
What we treasure should be protected
What we love should be preserved
I wanted to bring the idea of those handwritten letters into today's world—a private and secure place where parents, grandparents, families, and pet lovers can preserve photos, videos, milestones, letters, voice notes, and the everyday moments that might otherwise be lost with time.
Technology has changed. The reason for saving these memories hasn't.
Love, Peapie is my modern version of those sealed envelopes.
